Planet Alpha's Data Protection Server (DPS) is an appliance that combines a dedicated server with R1Soft CDPServer™ for Linux and Windows. Formerly known as "Dedicated Backup Server", this solution is ideal for the administrator looking for an efficient way to protect data on multiple servers or seeking more advanced data protection abilities than EVault Backup offers.
The "all-in-one" data protection server is available with four pre-configured capacity levels for up to 6TB of backup capacity. With unlimited R1Soft CDPServer™ licensing to backup as many servers as you need, this simple-to-manage, incredibly powerful software allows you to schedule backups down to the minute, while efficiently managing bandwidth and CPU, to save time and disk space.
Planet Alpha's Data Protection Server enables you to focus on your business rather than on backup infrastructure. With the easy-to-use R1Soft CDPServer Web interface, you can schedule backups and restore specific files and folders. You can also perform bare metal restores, which provide the functionality of a restore from a specific point-in-time, along with a "snapshot" of the backup. You can also restore a file prior to a critical error, or even restore a complete volume image after a catastrophic hardware failure.
